"President's speech on Afghanistan"

On December 1, 2009, President Barack Obama gives a speech at U.S. Military Academy at West Point, New York about his strategy on Afghanistan. Obama spoke about our effort in Afghanistan, our nature of our commitment there, our interest, and the strategy that will pursue to bring this war to a successful conclusion. To bring this war to an end Obama will send an additional 30,000 U.S. troops to Afghanistan. Obama talked about al Qaeda also. He explains on how al Qaeda was scattered and many of its operatives were killed by our troops after they refused to turn over Osama bin Laden. The President also made a comment about removing our combat brigades from Iraq by the end of next summer, and all of our troops by the end of 2011. My opinion about Obama’s speech is pretty simple. First, I agree that we should send more troops to Afghanistan. Second, we should set a date in which all our troops should come home. Finally, we should focus more on our country and our economy. The reason why I agree that we should send more troops is because for the past eight years we have been wasting money and time not bringing this war to an end. President Obama mention that by not having the additional 30,000 troops in Afghanistan will result in a slow deterioration of conditions there and it would ultimately prove more costly and prolong our stay in Afghanistan. With that said all we really want as Americans is to end the war, and if by sending more troops it will speed up the process then we should do so that way we can focus our time on rebuilding our economy here at home and save all that money that it’s costing us on this war.

I believe we should set a date in which this war should be over. The reason why we should set a date is because it creates pressure to get the job done on time. Also, by having a time limit we give our troops hope that they will return. President Obama also mentioned that the absence of a time frame for transition would deny us any sense of urgency in working with the Afghan government and that it must be clear that Afghans will have to take responsibility for their security. Overall, I agree with Obama because if we set a time limit we apply pressure on the Afghans to unite and take responsibility for their own country.
Instead of focusing on war we should focus on our own country and economy. The reason why I believe that is because it’s hurting the American economy. The United States' economy has been progressively getting worse and worse since the beginning of this war and the American people are suffering. Practically everything has risen in cost, most noticeably gas prices, and many people are having trouble keeping up. In conclusion, sending more troops will end war faster, setting a timeline will encourage Afghans to work harder to bring peace to their country, and most importantly it is not fair that American people are being penalized for a war that many do not even believe in anymore. Many did support the war in the beginning, but now it has lost very much of its support and America is supposed to be for the people by the people. The government should listen to the people.

"Funny People"

“Funny People” starting two of my favorite comedians (Adam Sandler) and (Seth Rogen) in a comedy/ Drama film that will have you laughing and thinking about life. This movie is about George Simmons (Adam Sandler) a very successful yet self-involved stand-up comedian who learns that he has an incurable blood disorder and is given less than a year to live. Ira Wright (Seth Rogen) is a struggling up-and-coming stand-up comedian who works at a deli and has yet to figure out his onstage persona. One night, George takes notice of Ira when they perform at the same club and he hires him to be his semi-personal assistant and opening act at his performances. George and Ira form a close bond as George teaches Ira how to win the crowd and Ira helps the dying George find closure in his legacy. However, when George learns that his disease has gone into remission and an old flame (Leslie Mann) reenters his life, his recent near death experience inspires him to reevaluate what is important to him and what truly gives meaning to his life.

What I really liked about this movie is that I can relate to George, is really funny, and the drama. I can relate to this film because like George I once had that perfect girlfriend that got away because of my mistakes. Also, George knows many people but

Hasan soon opened fired and killed 13 soldiers and wounded about 30 others. President Obama comments on the tragic shooting at the Fort Hood Army base in Texas. One by one, President Barack Obama spoke the names and told the stories of the 13 people slain in the Fort Hood shooting rampage, honoring their memories.

Four Christmases

My movie choice of this week was "Four Christmases". This film was really fun to watch and you should rent this movie because you will enjoy the comedy, drama, and romance. This film is about a couple name Brad (Vince Vaughn) and Kate (Reese Witherspoon) who come from a family of divorces. Not only they don’t want to get married out of fear of becoming like their dysfunctional folks, but they avoid them for the holidays. Brad and Kate accomplish that by lying to their families telling them they are doing charity work in foreign countries, but when their flight to Fiji is cancel they are interview by a news station on TV. After being seen on TV by their families they are forced to spend Christmas with not just one family but all four of them. Now that I told you a bit about the plot let me explain why you will enjoy this film.

"Four Christmases" was actually pretty funny. I caught myself laughing on the very first scene which was a really good sign. One of my favorite funny scenes was when Brad gets the snot kicked out of him by both his brothers and nephews and one of the nephews says "Google me bitch". Also the secrets each one of them had carefully kept from each other are quite funny. Another reason why I found this film pretty funny it’s because I’m a big fan of Vince Vaughn who I believe is a very funny actor. This film is rated: PG-13 for some sexual humor and language but other than that it is a perfect family film which you decide if the little ones get to watch.

I really thought the drama in this film was really good. Can you imagine meeting your lover’s family for the first time and not knowing what to expect. Well on this movie you get to see all the drama between the families and why Brad and Kate avoided their families in the first place. I also enjoy the romance in this film because after all the drama you come to realize what is important in life and what matters to you the most. Another reason why romance was one of my favorite parts of this movie is because at the beginning of this film my girlfriend and I were arguing but by the end of this film somehow we ended up Snuggling. I guess we too also came to realize what matters to us both. In conclusion I rate this movie a 5 out of 5 since I enjoyed the comedy, drama, and especially the romance.

Over the weekend I decided to rent the movie “Bruno”. Sacha Baron Cohen last film “Borat” was actually quite funny but “Bruno” was the worst movie I ever saw. This film was a waste of time, not funny, and just plain stupid. On this review I’ll let you know what other people thought and my opinion towards this movie. This film wasted 82 minutes of my life that I wish I could get back. The first few minutes of this movie I was waiting and waiting for something funny to happened but I didn’t laugh that’s when I wanted to turn this movie off. Now I’m here to let you know that this movie sucks and you’re better off watching something on television.
The reason why I felt this movie was not funny at all is because you can compare this film to Sacha’s last movie “Borat” and is a lot like it just way less funny. I also felt that Sacha was trying too hard to be funny but did not succeed. Another reason why I felt this movie is not funny is because I don’t enjoy watching two guys making out or Sacha’s private parts. A lot of the scenes that where meant to be funny where plain stupid. For example there’s a scene where Bruno

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen

Did you like the first Transformers movie? Well if you did then you would sure love the second "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen".This film was a bit long but you will not be dissapointed since its non stop action and great special effects keeps you focus on the screen. What makes this movie so entertaining is that not only theres lots of explosions and battles but you also get to see hot girls like Megan Fox and Isabel Lucas. Also there is many cool cars and a introduction to many new Decipticons.
Watch this movie because of the never ending action, comedy, and Transformations.

My favorite scenes of this film was of course the action. One of them took place in the forest when Optimus Prime rips that big robot's face apart with his hooks right before he gets killed himself. Another cool scene was when Sam (Shia LaBeouf) is seduced by a creepy hot girl, Isabel Lucas who turns into a robot and tries to kill him. Even tho there was alot of action there was also some funny scenes. One of my favorite parts of the movie takes place in Mikaela Banes ( Megan Fox) garage because I find it really funny to see a small robot cursing at Mikaela calling her a "crazy bitch". Another funny scene I really like was when Sam's mom eats the maijuana brownies and starts going wild all tru out the campus.
One word to describe the special effects on the new transformers movie is "AMAZING". There is so many special effects in this movie from cars to air plaines turning into robots. One of my favorite transformations is the Isabel Lucas when she turns from human to killer robot. Overall I really loved this movie therfor I rate it a perfect 5 out of 5 since there is lots of action, funny scenes, and many new transformers.

"Amazing Blogger"

After reading a few entries on movies, I came across this amazing bloggers profile. I couldn’t believe what I saw and read. This person is writing about vampire movies, but instead of just reviewing films there is more to it. . I really enjoyed visiting this person’s page, and I thought it was really organized. Once you are on their page you have options whether you want to know about vampire movie news, reviews, features, or to even checking out a few female vampires. After going thru the profile I felt as if I have so much to learn about creating an interesting page that people would enjoy.

In conclusion reading other individuals entries made me realize there is many ways on creating a good profile. It also gave me ideas on how to improve my own entries. I also learned that by reading and correcting other people’s mistakes improves your own writing skills. Therefore is always a good idea to read and follow other topics related to yours.

'Monsters vs. Aliens'

Over the weekend I decided to rent a movie that would be really colorful to test out the new blu-ray player. I went ahead and grabbed “Monsters vs. Aliens”. This film is also available in 3-D which would be more enjoyable to watch. At first I thought this movie would be too much of a kid’s film but after a few minutes I couldn’t stop watching. I really liked this movie a lot and thought it was really funny. One of my favorite scenes is when Susan the 49 foot girl is captured by the feds and is taken to a secret facility where she meets the monsters, which include B.O.B, Dr. Cockroach, Insectosaurus, and the Missing Link. This film is really fun to watch especially if is on 3-D.

In conclusion I really enjoyed the film and I give it a 5 out of 5 just because if you have kid’s you are able to enjoy the movie as well. This film was worth the time and will have you laughing from start to finish.

"Drag Me To Hell"

Over the weekend I decided to rent a horror movie, “Drag Me To Hell”. It has been a long time since I rented a horror film that was actually scary. Just the first couple of minutes I jumped and I knew I picked a good movie. One of the times I jumped was when Mrs. Ganush an old evil gipsy tried to attack a bank loan officer, Christine Brown after foreclosing her house. A second time I got scared was when Mrs. Ganush curse Christine and sets a nasty demon, Lamia, on Christine, giving her three days before she will be dragged down to hell. Even tho this movie had a lot of scary scenes it also had a few funny parts as well. One scene I found pretty funny was when Christine stapled Mrs. Ganush forehead while trying to get away from her.

In conclusion I found this movie really intertaining and scary. It also made me wonder if paranormal activities really excist, like the scene where Christine gets tossed across the room and smacked across the face by the demon. Another part of the film that got me thinking was when an extorcism was performed. Those type of activities made the movie more enjoyable and creepyer. Overall I give this movie a 5 out of 5 since it made me jump a number of times and I recommend this film to anyone who enjoys horror movies.

About Me

My name is Ramon Diaz, and I have the worst work schedule ever. I have been working at Stater Bros Market for over three years and never had a set work schedule. Two years ago I was promoted to a night stocker. Working nights has to be by far the worst hours to work. Sometimes I'm scheduled to start work at 10pm, other times at 11pm, and every Sunday at 12am. Since I do not have a set schedule I never know what days I’m going to have off. Working nights does not allow me to have fun like most guys my age. For example, instead of dancing I'm stocking the night away. On my days off it's really hard to fall sleep, and I’m up all night tossing and turning. Sometimes I even forget what day it is and what month were in. Therefore, I would have to say working nights is the worst schedule ever.

Ghosts of Girlfriends Past

I really enjoyed watching "Ghosts of Girlfriends Past," but I did not think it was a funny movie. You would really enjoy this movie if you like watching romantic movies. I expected this movie to be a comedy romance, but it did not have many funny parts. I found myself feeling mostly sad and happy through out the movie. Overall I give this movie a four out of five just because it was lacking on the comedy side. Other than that I really recommend this movie to anyone who enjoys watching chick flicks with their significant other.

Intro

Hello world, well Im writting about new movies that just came out. What I'm going to try and focus on is on my opinion about the movies. I'll talk about how the movie made me feel and if its worth your time. The reason why I choose to write about movies is because, about four years ago I realize that I really hated Sundays so to make my Sundays more interesting I created what I call Movie Day Sunday. I usually rent about two or three movies. One of my favorite topics has always been movies, I really enjoy talking and giving my opinion on how I felt. I hope who ever reads my blogs will find it interesting and fun to read.
